The Life and Times of a Western Settler

Today my son actually complained about having to go out in the field and farm! Ha! He's lucky! Back in my day, we didn't have these newer style reapers! We had that older type of reaper, the type that really hurt to use.

 Today I finally arrived in my new home out in Wyoming! Another time to be thankful for innovations - an experimental phone was set up near my house, so I was able to inform my friends back East that I had arrived safely!

 Today we passed another train - But this one was herding cattle! How extraordinary is that? Back in my day, it would take a solid three month's time to get cattle across such a large area! So excited to see what other innovations we can come up with!

 I swear, we have been on the train going through Kansas for nearly 5 days! Or at least that's how it feels. Thank the Lord for the train, otherwise, we may have had to walk all of this land.

As we were driving through the plains today, I actually saw some Injuns! Real-life Injuns! And some buffalo! I heard they're being driven to extinction, but I doubt that. It can't be too bad, right?

Today we left to go out West! It's my first time seeing a train and I am of the utmost excitement!
